Choose the Record Holder
The right contact depends on which custody or legal record is involved. A Will County jail booking belongs to the Sheriff. A court disposition or probation order belongs to the Twelfth Judicial Circuit. State prison, parole, and mandatory supervised release records belong to IDOC or the Illinois Prisoner Review Board. Use a booking number, court case number, or IDOC number when available.

Describe the person, booking number, relevant dates, and exact records sought. Ask for electronic delivery when practical. The first 50 black-and-white letter or legal pages are free, later pages may cost up to $0.15 each, and the Sheriff lists a $1 certification fee.
